Let me introduce myself…

My name is Tiffany Berry. Since I was a young girl I have always been interested in makeup and skincare. I would steal my older sister's mascara and play spa in the bathroom. So it was no surprise to everyone that I wanted to become an esthetician. After I completed school and took my state boards, I was hired at a large dermatology center in Peoria Illinois. There I specialized in facials, chemical peels, and makeup. I am so thankful for my time there because I learned a great deal. I was able to learn from co-workers that had been in the industry for twenty plus years. We were also required to shadow dermatologists, PA's and plastic surgeons. After working there for a few years I moved to the suburbs of Chicago. For a few years I worked for a makeup company and a skin care company that was all about education. Even though I loved it, I wanted to follow my dreams and be my own boss. For the past two years I have been running an on-site bridal makeup business. Because skincare and makeup go hand in hand, I really stress to my brides that taking care of their skin should be the number one priority. If the skin is healthy, makeup will look awesome (and they will need only a small amount).

Here are some of my favorite tips to brides and anyone else that would like to have great skin!

Moisturizing:The skin is the largest organ of the body and the last to get nutrients from what we ingest. So the answer is simple… give it the nutrients it craves. Try and use ingredients that are most similar to what the body produces. For instance- olive oil. It is natural and can do miracles for the skin. Make sure you are moisturizing both morning and night, especially night, because this is when the skin repairs itself. By adding a great moisturizer to the skin before bed it will help aid in the self-repair process while you get your beauty sleep.

Cleansing: Before your head hits the pillow you need to wash off the day. Think about the sweat, dirt, oil, and pollution that is nestled in your pores. Get it off! Use a gentle cleanser to wash away the impurities and you will rest assured knowing your skin is nice and clean.

Exfoliation: Depending on your skin type you will need to sluff off the dead skin 1-3 times a week. Someone with an oily complexion will need to exfoliate more. If you are more on the dry side try and do it once a week. You can exfoliate with a wash cloth, a scrub or a mechanical device like the CLARISONIC brush. If you notice your skin becoming too dry, try exfoliating less. Always cleanse your skin before exfoliating, you do not want to scrub the sweat, dirt, oil and pollution into the skin!

Sunscreen: Okay, this is my big secret… Sunscreen is the best anti-wrinkle product ever! Most of aging and skin damage is caused by the sun. So be smart, wear a sunscreen everyday! A 15-30 SPF daily and a 30-45 if outside for an extended period of time. I love to moisturize with a rich cream then put on a tinted SPF moisturizer. In 10-20 years your skin will thank you.
